Hongyuan candy ingredients and nutrition facts
The ingredient lists and Nutrition Facts panels below are copied from the stickers on the bags: the guava bag and the peach bag carry the two fullest labels in the range.

Labels change between print runs, so the bag in your hand is the last word. Nothing here is medical or dietary advice: with an allergy or a prescribed diet, ask your doctor or a registered dietitian.

The dyes on the labels
The guava candy is green because of two certified colors, Blue 1 and Yellow 5. The peach candy uses Red 40, Yellow 5 and Yellow 6. All are legal in U.S. food today, and each has to appear on the label by name.
For example, FD&C Yellow No. 5 may cause itching and hives in some people.
to eliminate six remaining certified color additives frequently used in the food supply—FD&C Green No. 3, FD&C Red No. 40, FD&C Yellow No. 5, FD&C Yellow No. 6, FD&C Blue No. 1, and FD&C Blue No. 2—by the end of 2027.
That list covers every dye on these two labels, so the recipes may change. Check the ingredient line on a new bag before you assume it matches an old one.
Hongyuan candy and special diets
What are the ingredients in Hongyuan guava candy?
Sugar, glucose syrup, citric acid, fruit acid, guava essence, salt and 2 dyes: FD&C Blue 1 and Yellow 5. That is the list on the importer's label of the 12.3 oz bag.
How many calories are in one piece of Hongyuan candy?
About 7.5. The peach panel gives 45 calories for 6 pieces (14 g). The guava panel counts by weight: 104 calories per 1 oz serving.
Is Hongyuan guava candy vegan?
The label lists no animal ingredient among its 8 entries: sugar, glucose syrup, two acids, guava essence, salt and two dyes. The bag carries no vegan mark, so strict vegans have only the ingredient list to go on.
Is Hongyuan guava candy gluten free?
The 8 ingredients on the label include no wheat, rye or barley. The bag makes no gluten-free claim, and that claim is voluntary under FDA rules.
Does Hongyuan candy contain artificial colors?
Yes. The guava label names 2 certified dyes, FD&C Blue 1 and Yellow 5. The peach label names 3: Red 40, Yellow 5 and Yellow 6.
Small, round and hard: two cautions
Young children
A Hongyuan candy is a marble-sized hard drop, the shape both agencies below name first.
Round or hard candy, jelly beans, caramels, gum drops, or gummy candies.
Keep high-risk foods from children until 4 years of age or older, depending on each child's development and maturity level.
Teeth
Let a piece dissolve. Biting through a hard candy is how teeth chip, and a candy that lasts ten minutes bathes them in sugar for ten minutes.
Hard candies also put your teeth at risk because in addition to being full of sugar, they can also trigger a dental emergency such as a broken or chipped tooth.
If you have a little candy with meals (or right afterward), you’ll benefit from the extra saliva your mouth automatically makes while you’re eating a full meal.
